What AI Mode means
AI Mode is a separate tab in Google Search that handles longer, multi-part questions and follow-ups. It uses a technique Google calls query fan-out: it breaks a question into subtopics and runs many searches at once, then writes an answer with links.
The same rules apply as for AI Overviews: an indexed, snippet-eligible page can appear, and there is no special markup to add.
