What Large language model (LLM) means
LLMs learn patterns from training data (web pages, books, code and more) and predict text one token at a time. Products like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity wrap one or more LLMs with tools such as web search.
A brand can be known to an LLM in two ways: through its training data, which updates only when a new model is trained, and through live retrieval at answer time, which updates as soon as new pages are indexed.
