Google-Extended is a robots.txt token that controls whether Google may use your content to train and ground Gemini models. It does not affect Google Search.

What Google-Extended means

Google-Extended is not a separate crawler: Google crawls with Googlebot, and the token tells Google what it may do with the content for Gemini Apps and the Vertex AI API. Blocking it does not remove pages from Google Search, and it does not remove them from AI Overviews or AI Mode, which are part of Search and controlled by normal search rules such as nosnippet.
