PerplexityBot is Perplexity's crawler that indexes web pages so they can be found and cited in Perplexity's answers. Perplexity says it is not used for training.

What PerplexityBot means
Perplexity has two user agents: PerplexityBot, which builds its search index and follows robots.txt, and Perplexity-User, which fetches pages when a user asks a question and generally ignores robots.txt because the request comes from a person. Blocking PerplexityBot keeps your pages out of its index and so out of its citations.
